This is Topsey, a 2 year old female flat coated retriever who has had a pretty bad life so far. She and two other dogs were brought into a shelter in North Georgia several months ago. The other dogs got adopted but Topsey was so scared and stayed in the back of her run hiding that no one wanted her. We moved her into a boarding facility until we were able to find her a loving foster home. Topsey really came out of her shell in foster care. She learned to walk on a leash, eat from a bowl, come inside when called, and go into her crate for bed. She is a true testament to the power of a little love and patience. Best of all, Topsey has now been adopted and finally has a family to call her own. Topsey’s new forever home is just great. Mom and dad have promised to give Topsey all the toys and treats, attention and affection she had missed out on in her early years. Topsey’s new parents are totally devoted to their pets. They have owned a number of goldens in the past, all of which lived long and happy lives. Mom and dad missed having a dog to dote on and while they planned to adopt another golden retriever, Topsey stole their hearts. Topsey couldn’t be happier in her new home. She gets to sleep in the bedroom with mom and dad and play the days away in her big fenced in yard. She even gets along with the 3 family cats, Wayne, Larry, and Harry. Topsey can finally rest her paws and wag that tail knowing she will never be left alone ever again!
