This is Tripp, a young male golden spaniel mix. He was found by animal control officers hiding in the crawl space under a house. They were able to get him out and could tell that he had been injured….so they took him to a vet who x-rayed his head. In the image you could see the distinct path of a bullet – he had been shot in the face! Fortunately, the bullet missed his brain and jawbone, so it looks as if he is going to be okay. In fact, you can’t even see where the bullet went in anymore. In spite of such cruelty, he did not lose his trust for humans and is still very loving. In fact, it’s his sweet nature that made his new family fall for him. Tripp will now have a fenced yard to run and play in, a stay at home mom, a dad who’s a pilot and a little 2 year old boy to hang out with. He also has a new 5 year old cat brother named Cooper. His new mom has already reported that Cooper and Tripp are doing great – she even found them laying on the rug together. Mom, dad and their little boy certainly love him and now that Cooper has given his stamp of approval, it sure looks as if Tripp is finally home to stay!
