Trooper was almost exactly one year old when his parents dropped him off at a shelter. We may never know why, but we do know that he was only hours from certain demise when AGA stepped in and took him. Trooper is a typical one-year old, energetic boy. He loves to run outside and has exceptional manners inside. He was initially adopted by his foster but she soon found that Trooper was telling her what to do. So, we had to find Trooper a family with just the right amount of love and the discipline a youngster needs. Well, they came to us – from warm, sunny Florida. Yes, Trooper is now a Floridian. Don’t we all wish we were right now? Trooper’s new dad and mom are a retired military man and a nurse, respectively. They have owned dogs all their lives. Oh yes, Mr. Trooper now has his marching orders. Mom and dad have grown children and a grandchild who lives close by. The grandchild could not wait to meet Trooper – so they showed up at the grandparent’s house last night when Trooper arrived home. Now everyone is in love. Trooper has a much older and wiser feline sister, who has already shown Trooper that his place is on the floor at night. Of course, her place is in the bed. Trooper now lives in luxury, near the beach, with his very own swimming pool. It’s too cold (even in Jacksonville) to swim right now but Trooper is already enjoying his yard and the dog park. Trooper’s new mom is looking into taking Trooper to classes to get his good citizen certificate and would like to train him to be a therapy dog, working with ill patients. Troopers life is full and busy with home right on the beach – wow!
