I didn’t always know what it meant to be a family dog. Before, I lived with lots of other dogs, and humans took care of us, but it wasn’t like this. I never had my own bed. Never climbed stairs. Never even sat on a couch! (Can you believe that?!) Then one day, everything changed. Some nice people from AGA came and brought me to a new place called a “foster home.” It was a little scary at first—I didn’t know what to do! But my foster family, the Colemans, were so kind. They showed me soft voices, gentle hands, and lots of love. Every day, I learned something new. How to go up stairs. How to snuggle. How to play! And oh boy, did I like playing! Then, something amazing happened. My foster family said, “Velvet, you belong here with us.” And just like that, I had a forever home!

Now, I am called “Maple” and I spend my days following my humans from room to room (just in case they need a Maple shadow). My fur brother, Teddy, is my best friend—we play and nap together all the time. My little human brother gives me lots of pets, and I love every single one. Oh, and the couch? Best. Thing. Ever. I never knew life could be this sweet, but now I do. I’m home. And I’m never looking back. Kisses from Velvet
