When I first came to AGA I knew my heart was broken because my owner just left me at a shelter and never looked back to say goodbye. Then I found out I had heartworms and that made it even worse. How could I ever get better and find a new home, I thought. They say I am 12 and sometimes it’s harder for senior dogs to find new homes but then some really good things started to happen. First my dog angel, Holly Cruger sent me the money for my medicine and after I was all better a helper from AGA took me to the place where you go to look for a new family. But my helper turned out to be my new family and at first neither one of us even knew that! What a surprise! Now I have a new kid sister who used to be an AGA orphan just like me. She is like a golden retriever painted black which is a very attractive “look” I think! We are having the best time playing tennis ball and I feel like a young girl again. But most importantly, besides my heart being healthy again, I know it’s not broken anymore. Thank you everybody-thank you. Love, Winnie
