Winston, a male purebred 8 year old golden was such a sad sad dog when we saved him from certain death. When we got to the shelter, Winston’s face looked like it had been in fight. We wished he had been ’cause we found out that all those abrasions on his face were being caused by skin cancer. And, his throat area had it too! Off to the specialists Winston had to go. He had to have surgery and we had to raise over $2,000. But as always, our golden angels came through for this boy and he is cancer free! Now, in this photo, Winston is happy (I know, it’s hard to tell, but his Mom swears it). His favorite time is riding in the car to Starbucks. He just loves the car and he claims the front seat as his, all his. Well, back to his story. Winston had several surgeries and was in foster care a pretty long time. Yep, you guessed it – another foster Mom bites the dust. Actually, his foster Mom also adopted Alex and Charlie and Sadie but’s that’s a whole other story. We know she fell for the dear boy the day she met him. And even though he has a mind of his own and is a little stubborn (he’s on the same wave length as his new teenager), his Mom can’t imagine what life would be like if she could open a door in her house without Winston blocking her in.
