Yale was a 8-10 year old male golden retriever stray who found himself in a rural Georgia kill shelter and his time was up. He was a very sick boy and the chances he could be helped were slim. However, true to AGA’s promise of never letting a Golden die alone and afraid in a shelter, we brought Yale to a vet in Atlanta to see if there was any hope . We don’t know exactly what was wrong with him but it appeared he had a serious disease of the endocrine system that had gone untreated for a very long time. He only weighed 37 pounds! The disease had completely ravaged his body and there was nothing we could do for him except humanely help him cross Rainbow Bridge. The vet assured us they would make him comfortable and hold his paw so he would know he was not alone.
