Meet Zoey – a 2-3 year old female golden who was on death row in a shelter in Alabama. She was in the same shelter as Abbey. Zoey was actually being held as evidence in a cruelty case against HER. They had abandoned her without food or water. We can’t imagine how anyone could ever leave her. She is sweet, gentle, loves being touched, loves other dogs and loves all people. She also has a security blanket – she carries it with her everywhere. Unfortunately, Zoey like Abbey has heartworms and needed a sponsor to pay for her treatment ($500). A kind, lovely golden girl stepped forward to sponsor Zoey because her own story was similar to Zoey’s and she too is fond of blankets and know their importance in times like this. Thank you Meadow. Through her treatment Zoey was in fostercare and then her foster home became her forever home. Mom and Dad couldn’t imagine life without her so they decided she had to stay. Now Zoey and her blanket have the home all goldens dream about – one with lots of attention and lots of love. Also, Zoey has a new sister named Sadie. Sadie is a labradoodle and is quickly teaching Zoey all about family life. Her new life is sure to be golden!
