My name is Zuma, and I’m a 3.5-year-old golden boy with a big heart and lots of love to give. I’m currently underweight at 54 pounds and eating four meals a day to help me get to a healthy weight.
My previous family loved me very much, but they made the heartfelt decision to let AGA help me find my next home because they knew I deserved more than they were able to give me. It wasn’t an easy decision, but they wanted the very best for me. Now I’m ready to find my forever family.
I’m a very sweet, affectionate velcro boy who loves being close to my people. I would do best with having someone who is home more than not. I have plenty of energy and love to play, but I also settle nicely when it’s time to relax.
I’m house-trained, walk well on a leash, ride great in the car, and get along with other dogs – I may even let out an excited bark when I see them. I’m also good with kids, though older kids would probably be best for me since I’m still working on my bouncy puppy habits. I would do best with no cats.
Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive. This means I’ll need treatment before I can be fully healthy again. My care costs about $1,000, and thanks to my amazing sponsors listed below, I raised all the funds I needed!
What I’m looking for now is a patient family who will take me through my HW+ treatment and continue my training. I will need my forever family to live a max of 40 minutes from the vet located in the Buckhead area, and have few or no steps for me to go outside.
All I really want is to be loved, included, and right by your side. I promise to repay you with endless affection and a lifetime of loyal companionship. With love and hopeful tail wags, Zuma
