Maverick Doodle

My name is Maverick Doodle, and I’m a 3-year-old Goldendoodle who is officially healthy, strong, and looking for my forever home!

When I first came to AGA, I needed a lot of medical TLC. But thanks to my amazing foster family, I’ve made incredible progress. I’ve finished up all of my medical treatments, and I’m proud to say I’ve reached a healthy 46 pounds!

I am a very sweet, affectionate “velcro” boy who loves nothing more than being close to my people. If you’re home, chances are I’m right nearby! At bedtime, I sleep peacefully loose in the room, happily choosing either the floor or the bed (and I’m smart enough to be easily trained to sleep wherever you’d prefer, as long as I can see you).

I’m fully house-trained, walk beautifully on a leash, ride great in the car, and am a gold-medal cuddler who takes treats very gently and nicely. I can be a little selective when first meeting new dogs, but once I feel safe, I love having a buddy. I adore my foster siblings and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another friendly dog to keep me company.

I thrive on companionship, so I will need to be crated when left alone or unsupervised. I will do best with a family where someone is home more than not, as I don’t like to be left alone for too long.

I absolutely love kids! Because I’m a tall boy who is an expert counter-surfer, I can be tempted to snatch tasty snacks if they are right in front of my face. Because of this, I would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids or teenagers who know to keep their plates out of my reach while I continue to learn my table manners.
