My name is Maverick Doodle, and I’m a 3-year-old Goldendoodle who’s been through a lot lately… but thanks to AGA, I’m feeling better and stronger every day.
When I first came to AGA, I was in pretty rough shape and in need of medical care. Now, with lots of love, structure, and good food, I’ve made tremendous progress and am continuing to gain weight safely on a special feeding plan. I still need a couple more weekly B12 shots, so I’m looking for a forever family close to the Alpharetta area.
I’m a very sweet, affectionate boy who absolutely loves to cuddle and be close to my people. I ride great in the car, walk nicely on a leash, and sleep happily on my dog bed at night. I’m also house-trained and would really enjoy having another friendly dog in the home to help me feel comfortable and confident.
Because of my past, I can be protective of food and treats, though I’m already improving as I learn that meals are regular and I never have to worry. I also need someone patient and attentive, and I do best when in a crate when left home alone.
I’d do best in an adult-only home, or possibly one with older children, where someone is home most of the day and can continue helping me thrive. A fenced yard would also be a big bonus for me.
What I really need is a patient, committed family who will continue helping me heal and teaching me that I never have to worry about food, shelter, or love ever again.
